NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED USE OF
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG FY2024) ELK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Notice is hereby given by the County of Elk and Ridgway Borough, that it will hold a Public Hearing on September 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Elk County Courthouse Annex Building, 300 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853 in the P.O.S.T.S. Conference Room – 2nd Floor. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and receive comment on Elk County and Ridgway Borough’s 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications, as well as receive comments on Three-Year Plans and any competitive grant projects. The County of Elk will administer aspects of Ridgway Borough’s program “on behalf of” (OBO). The deadline for the County to submit the CDBG Application to DCED is November 1, 2024.
Applications and questions were received by the Elk County Planning Department on the use of the CDBG FY 2024 funding. During this process the following projects have been identified and proposed for funding utilizing Elk County’s allocation in the amount of $218,156.00. Projects proposed to be funded are:
- Water Meter Replacement Project – Jones Township Municipal Authority - $120,636.00
- Market Street Slum & Blight Control – Johnsonburg Borough - $30.000.00
- Bridge Street Sidewalk Replacement – Johnsonburg Borough - $28,252.00
- County Administration $39,268.00
Ridgway Borough’s entitlement is $93,773.00. The projects proposed to be funded are:
- ADA curb cuts within Ridgway Borough $84,396.00
- Funds for administration of the projects $9,377.00
There will be no displacement with any of the proposed projects. All projects benefit HUD identified Limited Clientele and lowmoderate income persons.
