The 2020 Elk County Tax Upset Sale listing is available on the Tax Claim Bureau section of the Elk County website and was published in the Ridgway Record and St. Marys Daily Press for those taxpayers owing 2018 taxes and prior.  The amount shown in that advertisement is the approximate bid price should be the property go to sale, this amount is the total of all taxes including current year taxes.

To be removed from the Upset Sale, you may either

  • Make payment of the 2016 taxes and prior in full or
  • Enter into an agreement by coming into the Tax Claim Office and speaking with an employee for the amounts and rules. An agreement requires the owner to pay 25% down and a $15.00 agreement fee, the remaining amount is split into monthly payments which will run through April 30th of the following year.  If a taxpayer misses two consecutive payments the agreement goes into default and the Tax Claim Bureau will not be able to do another agreement with you for 3 years.
